Description
• Understand and consistently execute all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in interior design, execution, and living design.
• Full responsibility for managing all aspects of projects to ensure efficient execution within scope and budget.
• Manage project teams, foster collaboration, demonstrate strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance, design ideas and successful project delivery.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, partners, and consultants, ensuring timely resolution of client concerns and management of business issues.
• Understand and respond to technical implications and design decisions.
• Prepare strategic plans for project success.
• Consider risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues in a timely manner to minimize liability.
• Understand design philosophies and current trends throughout the profession, including planning and strategies, design and space planning, documentation, furniture specifications, materials, and finishes.
• Review work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.

Requirements
• A professional degree in Interior Design OR Architecture, or related discipline
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• PMP designation preferred
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software; Revit strongly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of project design process, construction documentation & administration
• Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationship and build new ones
• Experience negotiating and managing project scope and fees as well as risk management and financial accountability
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts of junior staff
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn
• Chair and co-ordinate large meetings and conference calls

@ (Senior) Interior Designer

Our interiors team is growing! We’re looking for a highly motivated and talented Interior Designer – strong in concept and SD phase to join our dynamic team in Shanghai. We hope you’ll consider joining us!

Description
• Evaluate, select, and apply advanced design and technical methods, with responsibility for project assignments including programming, design development, production, and coordination through construction documents.
• Effectively generate and communicate creative ideas, using a compelling design vocabulary for effective space planning and design solutions.
• Understand the architectural design process and integration of interior design concepts with ability to lead and develop design element components.
• Develop and produce construction documents and detail sketches; Execute red-marked revisions.
• Provide programming and space planning analysis and area calculations.
• Work independently and alongside team to meet project constraints of budget and schedule.
• Develop, prepare, and coordinate presentation materials.
• Be involved with coordinating contractors, consultants, and vendor assignments.
• Collaborate with and may mentor junior staff.
• Utilize your rock star technical skills in Revit and other design application software.

Requirements
• A professional degree in Interior Designer, or related discipline
• Preference for Healthcare, S&T and/or Workplace/Corporate Interiors
• 5+ years of experience for Interior Designer or 10+ years of experience for applicants for Senior Interior Designer
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software
• Experience with REVIT is required, including drawing setup, plan development and advanced modeling
• Experience in all phases and aspects of a Workplace Interiors project

@ Urban Design Project Manager

Description
• Define, monitor, and maintain control of the scope of work and services for the project including project schedule and work plan both to direct the project team and the client team.
• Prepare and negotiate client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules, and contracts.
• The primary coordinator of all communication between the client and Perkins&Will, ensuring timely resolution of client concerns and management of business issues including contracts and additional services.
• Are responsible for and is dedicated to the complete integration and excellence in design and technical aspects of the project.
• Are responsible for the clear and timely communication of information to the project team and to ensure compliance with the project team’s goals.
• Monitor the performance of the project team and approach, to ensure that the Firm’s quality standards and design goals are being met.
• Establish, maintain and documents regular project related meetings including client, internal team, and consultants’ meetings.
• Initiate, document, and maintain project set-up, including contract review, project process and filing procedures, work authorizations, assisting accounting in timely distribution of invoices.
• Are responsible for meeting or exceeding the financial goals established for the project and providing timely and appropriate information to initiate invoicing.
• Direct contact responsibility with clients and associated consultants, to ensure timely collections and management of delinquent accounts receivables.
• Ensure the orderly and complete preparation, distribution, and retention of all project written records.
• Consider risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues in a timely manner to minimize liability.
• Are responsible for the orderly closeout of projects including contractual requirements.
• Coordinate staffing resources with office Operations Director.
• Assure a positive teamwork atmosphere and assists in supporting the development and retention of quality staff including training/development/mentoring.
• Are experienced with business development.
• Initiate marketing opportunities, helps strategize teaming for pursuits, leads proposals, and facilitates multi-discipline/office collaboration within firm.
• Develop and maintain successful client relationships for repeat business.
• Understand urban design philosophies, concepts, software technology and delivery methods.
• Understand and respond to the technical implications of design decisions.
• Promote firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability.
• Understand all aspects and phases of the urban design, production and deliverable process.
• Are extremely proficient in writing urban design and planning documents.
• Have good people skills that enables an environment of collaboration and creative thinking.

Typical Years of Requisite Experience
• 10+ years of experience
• Professional Degree in Urban Design or Urban Planning or Architecture

General Proficiencies (including, but not limited to)
• Advanced knowledge of urban design process, deliverables, and materials
• Understands project financial management and contract administration, including project coordination, budgeting, scheduling and contract negotiations
• Experience working with clients and consultants
• Ability to direct, mentor and coordinate work efforts of project team
• Collaborative and professional work ethic
• Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, listening and written including client presentation skills
• LEED AP or within 6 months of hire
• Licensure preferred
